Serendipity to WordPress

It took me exactly two days to get tired of the Serendipity blog system. I’m a pretty tech savvy user, but man should I have to be? I like user friendlyness and sharp edges and perfect whitespace in my own blog as much as the next bloke, and Serendipity just didn’t cut it. Now I’m part of the masses of people using the WordPress blog system with the k2 template installed and I’m loving it!

Uninstalling Serendipity was obviouslty not something that’s mentioned in their FAQs or forums, but I figured using CocoaMySQL to delete the database tables and then simply deleting the files in the /serendipity directory on the server would be adequate.

Installing WordPress AND the k2 template on the other had was just as easy as promised. In fact I figured I just might install a blog for my dad as well, and that was done during the last 10 minutes of my lunch today. Yes, that’s a recommendation!
